Curious lamb, a photo from Hordaland, South

Photographer's Note

During a weekend in September 2001 I joined a studenttrip to Mjølfjell in Voss. We followed a path along a river. Suddenly these lamb were coming toward us, with their mother. while the mother went to the left, these two seem to be curious. I was a little in the front of the other one, and went down on me knee. They come nearer and nearer. Much nearer than this, but then some other came running for taking photo, and they run away.

Many places in Norway the sheeps, goats and cows are walking outside in the mountains all the summer. It is not unusuall to meet them if you walk there. In the eastern part of Norway they also come in to the cities, speciall if there are bear or wolfs in the area.

This weekend the farmers collected their sheeps in Mjolfjell. It is something that can take many ours. First you have to find them, and then you collected and lead everyone of them down from the mountain.

Very good composition. They look at you like they are really osing for you. Somehow, I like the subtle spary of green in this picture. It makes the whole scenery warm and hospitable.

Good composition Eiliv...I like how you got down close to the ground level for your shot to feel more part of the sheep's world.A pleasing background setting also adds to the value of your capture.

Tht must be amazing to meet sheeps while on a hike. Something impossible here ha sheeps are not left out of fenced areas. Nice composition with the sheeps on the left and mountain on the right, makes it very balanced. colors are nice too, I would be tempted to increase the contrast.

Funny photo! The composition is well managed with a nice positioning of the sheeps. There seems to be a fade though. Fade Correction in PSP8 could help (just a guess).
