Photographer's Note

Old Warmian farm. I don't know how old it actually is, but I'm sure it already existed before the World War II.
Lamkowo (German name: Lemkendorf) is a village near Barczewo. In this region (Warmia), you've got towns and villages, but also many farms or houses, standing alone in the fields and meadows, far from it's neighbours.
Red roofs are typical of old buildings here. As a child, I used to draw the roofs red. I never wondered why, that was obvious. My cousin from central Poland once came for holidays and asked me: "Why do the kids here always draw the roof red?" "Well, the sky's blue, the grass is green, and the roofs are red - can you do draw it the other way?" ;-)
Shot when the sun was quite low, the clouds were gathering and the wind was moving them fast, bathing the vicinity in patches of light and shadow. Before I had a chance to shoot something else, it began to rain.
