Monastry "Jasna Gora" in Czestochowa
Beginings of the Monastry are dated since 1382, when prince Wladyslaw Opolczyk invited Paulins from Hungary and was first sponsor of monastry.
The name "Jasna Gora" (Bright Mountain) is because it is situated on the limestone hill.
Two years later to Jasna Gora was imported the painting of God Mother with Child.
Soon the Monastry was well known for pilgrims and also for plunderers. In 14th april 1430 the painting of Black Madonna was damaged, but hopefully renowated in Krakow. Because of incrising number of pilgrims a new chapel was built. Monastry was also a military structure during war with Sveden and because of that has great defend walls.
Jasna Gora still is a Saint place for many pilgirms from all the world.
