ABOUT NUMBERS
I like reaching round numbers here. Recently I passed the milestone of 1000 photos in my TrekEarth gallery. Of course, it is easier to reach a high number from a country you live in. I started my TrekEarth activity when I lived in Ireland. Hence, I have over 100 photos from that country, at least one from each county of Ireland. After moving to the UK, I became even more active on TE and now I have nearly 300 photos from the United Kingdom. Thinking about good old times when I lived in California, I managed to go over 100 photos from the United States as well, sometimes with the help of the scanner. The most recent challenge was to reach 100th photos from the country of my origin, Poland. I am in Poland every year but usually visiting family so the time to travel around is quite limited. Finally, with this photo I pass the magic number of 100 photos from Poland. Interestingly, even though I lived and travelled a lot in Germany, I still don’t have 100 photos from that country here. But I work to make that happen.

ABOUT THE LOCATION
What you see in this photo is another view from Lagiewniki, which is now administratively a part of Krakow. I showed here recently a photo of a church interior with the painting “Jesus I trust in you”. The painting was created in collaboration of St Faustyna Kowalska with local artists, and as many people believe, the painting was inspired by Jesus himself. Among the buildings which you see in this photo there is a little church in which there is a tomb of the late St Faustyna.

PHOTO SELECTION
Looking at the selection of my photos from Poland one could think that I am a very devoted Catholic. I think I am rather a poor Catholic, but I do believe in God and I am quite well orientated in some aspects of the religion. You can see it as a curse. Like every intelligent person may feel offended by the decisions of the present-day politicians, I feel very much frustrated with the actions of present-day clergy, and in particular I have in mind Polish bishops. I have a feeling that the present-day church does not have much to do with the original Jesus teachings about love and compassion.
