Photographer's Note
The title of this upload refers to the colours of Ukrainian and Polish national flags (in case you didn't figure that out straight away, which I'm sure you did!).
I'm also trying to say that I'm still stuck in Poland without access to my photos from Ukraine or India or practically anywhere really. But I found a photo on my laptop that shows both the colours of the flag of Ukraine (well... just) and shows the place where I am now (I am in a house 20 minutes' walk away from the lake in the photo).
Being in Poland also means I'm closer to the actual conflict than I would have been in the UK. Malgo has already written a lot about what is happening in our country so apologies for a few repetitions.
Firstly, we now have several refugees from Ukraine in my mum's village. I'm pleased to report that the locals generously offer space in their homes.
Following the Russian invasion we've been experiencing shortages of cash in ATMs, general panic with people buying heaps of flour, sugar and canned foods, queues at petrol stations and passport offices. At the news of the possibility of another Chernobyl, iodine pills have also been flying of the shelves like there is no tomorrow.
The biggest concern is... I can't see how, with all the solidarity and (largely symbolic) support from around the world, Ukrainians can even dream of winning this conflict. :-(

Hello Kasia,
Regardless of the reason you're showing this photo, it's a beautiful and well-composed blue hour picture.
Meanwhile, we all know that the blue-yellow combination expresses our disgust at the invasion and the violence used and our hope for a soon normal life for the Ukrainians.
But how can the Ukrainians regain their former life in their home and country?
The West does not want to risk a nuclear war.
For the time being, we can only provide proper shelter to the refugees, but what dream can they cherish?
Best regards, Paul

Hello Kasia,
Sadly, the military assistance from European countries and the USA will hardly be enough to make any real difference in favour of Ukraine. Our greatest hope is that Russia will suffer enough setbacks to change the minds of the persons surrounding ***** and make them overthrow (and preferably execute) him. Whether they will prove any better is uncertain. The Soviet Union didn't get any better from overthrowing Khrushchev.
This is a beautiful photo with a nice message of blue and yellow solidarity. I like the reflections across the water and the reeds in the foreground.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Kasia,
Yellow toned lights on the blue hour look always good. and these days those colours have special meaning. Well framed view. I like those reeds in the foreground.

Ciao Kasia,in fact a Ukrainian victory is very unlikely, it would certainly involve the intervention of other countries and I dare not imagine the consequences ... for the moment we live for the day, even in Italy refugees are arriving, as if those from Africa were not enough , there is only to hope for a miracle, but I'm getting an idea that the Russians themselves will eliminate Putin ... who knows ... Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Witaj Kasiu,
Przepiękne jest to zdjęcie. Podobaja mi sie te domki i swiatła nad jeziorem, ale przede wszystkim pałki na pierwszym planie. Super kolory.

2500 rosyjskich dzieci uczy sie w drogich prywatnych szkolach w UK a uchodzcow przybylo 50.
Tak czy owak piekna fotografia, swietny pomysl.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie,
M

Hello Kasia,
We are finding yellow and blue wherever we go, and sharing those views in solidarity with Ukraine. This scene is peaceful, in such contrast to what's going on over the border. It's interesting to read what people are experiencing in Poland as a result of this invasion. Take care...

Strange how many people seem to discover that yellow/blue pattern almost everywhere these days. It goes to show how much the sad events in Ukraine are on people's minds.
Great picture, even without the Ukranian reference.
Tfs & cheers

Hello Kasia,
Lovely blue hour photo. I am hoping that this conflict can be resolved before taking the whole world with it. Let's hope that the meeting between the foreign ministers of Russia, the Ukraine (and Turkey) that is to take place in Antalya will start the peace process.
Regards,
MT

Hello Kasia.
Spectacular and wonderful composition at the blue hour, the framing is wonderful with the backlight of these riverbank plants, the blue color of the water and the sky is ideal, the line of lights in the houses gives spectacular reflections in the water.
A fantastic photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Very well done. Love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
Luis.
