Pilgrimage through the fields, a photo from Warminsko-Mazurskie, East

Photographer's Note

There's a big church near T³okowo village (German name: Lokau), in the fields. Long time ago there were many houses in the vicinity, I was told, but today it has only one farm for a close neighbour. The St Roch's church is opened only once a year: on 15th of August(Assumption of Mary day) the pilgrims go there on feet, most of them from Jeziorany - the town situated about 10 kilometres from here. As the church is situated far from the village, the second half of the way the pilgrims go this narrow, sandy country road. At the "head" of the group, the cross is carried. All the way, the people pray and sing - and some just listen to the others doing so, and enjoy the landscape ;-)
I wanted to show more pics fro this event, but realised that they're far from perfect.

What a very pretty photo. The people traveling down the winding path truly gives the sense of pilgramage and even before reading your note my first thought was of a pilgramage. The colors are great with beautiful contrasts between the green and blue, and the so well captured clouds. Usually I don't like photos with people missing body parts but here it works well as it gives a sense of many more people coming. Great composition and framing.

Your photo has lovely colours. The sky seems to be very true blue and the white clouds passing.
I liked your note about your photo.
It gives good sence, otherwise we would be left wondering.
I try also to give notes.

Very nice landscape and the clouds are filling exactly the part of the picture that would otherwise be empty. It does not matter that the legs are cut off, the important thing is that the left arm of the last lady isn't.

This one is good too. The curving line of the pilgrims drags the eye forward and into the picture.

Hi Johanna,
This kind of event is the opportunity to take some interesting close shots of some people. Don't hesitate to take discretly this kind of shots (or with permission).
Here you chose to have a curve line with the pilgrims, and with a natural background. That's OK, but I think that you should have wait several seconds before pushing the shutter. The girl on the left, with her white trousers, is too much present in the picture.
