Photographer's Note

The last sunny moments on the field - shot in the same circumstances as "Before the storm"-photo.
It was quite windy, and the patches of sun and shadow were moving very fast. This old warmian farm tried to play seek and hide and was quite succesful - only these hallmark red rooves are visible from behind the hill ;-)
Shot near Krokowo village / Jeziorany.
PS. I wanted to get the twigs blurred (so that they looked like the sea waves), so I used my cheap Circular Polarizer to achieve it - because it allows/requires 2 times longer exposures (and also ruins the quality, I heard...) It did't really work ;-)

Very good photo. I love the background darkness which gives the FG grass well contrast. The wind blowing the grass gives kind of warm and relaxing mood. Well done. Sothy

Witaj Joasiu!

Bardzo ładne. Przepiękny kadr i kolory. Bardzo ładne kontrasty pomiędzy jasnym zbożem na pierwszym planie i ciemnym niebem. Wrażenie robi także ta soczysta zieleń oddzielająca te dwie dominujące w Twojej kompozycji barwy. Bardzo ładna praca.

Hi Joana,
Great thinking. Seeing the picture before reading your note brought me the idea of adding a polariser (1) and the gradual, or a grey filter here. The tripod is necessary then, but a photographer should always have on "in the bag". :)
Your composition is very proper, though I would turn the camera just a bit to the left so that the first building on the right would start in the centre of the composition, but that is just my impression.

Hi Joanna, you've captured a lovely desolate and forlorn mood here, with the stalks swaying in the wind and the threatening sky. A strange composition to include so much of the foreground and to leave the house hidden behind the ridge. It works well in this case though, because it underlines the feeling of isolation. Good work!
