Pico Mountain from Faial Island, a photo from Acores, Islands

Photographer's Note

With this Post I will Return to Azores Islands and this was taken from Horta town at Faial Island capturing the sea channel and the near PICO Island and the greatest mountain from Portugal, that seems like a little FUGI in Japan.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Now in my Photo Information YOU have one WS-Workshop that are a complementary view of the place and that could not be so quality or near good but important ways of comunicate. So I ask you for a little moment to see also the WS. The 2 shots are very closed in time and sunlight conditions. IT was near Midday and I had the sun rays in near my frontal right approach. So possible a few of sharpness by reduction factors for posting here.

In one of my recent posts I post a distant view of Horta the main village of Faial Island situated in Azores, that is the opposite of this place shot and near PICO Island. These beautiful Islands are located in the vast Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America.

These two Islands Faial and Pico are part of the five Central Islands, that are visited all the year for several thousand of tourists and sea navigators from all the world. It's like a world navigation network!

PICO Island is known by the PICO Mountain that is very difficult to capture in a clear view because is allways with clouds in the upper. This Island have very good WINES and excelent CHEESE.

SECOND note: My current Travel Serie would be these particular Atlantic Islands with harmonious mountains, sea scenery, walles and dolphins, cows with milk and derivates for all the world, great wonderfull volcanic sceneries and nature and I will try to catalog in different selective ways to post.

These are natural and preserved nature wonders that have Sailors, Solitaire navigators and important world tourism and preserved Sportiv Game-Fishing with people linked to United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe and also naturally to Continental Portugal.

Looks like you had a great holiday on the Azores.Well captured with the harbour in the foreground and the perspective to the impressive mount Pico.The close up view in the Ws is a good addition.

Excellent composition Fernando, with the Mount Fuji look-alike in the background. The clouds could be the volcanic steam! The rows of boats in the marina serve to lead our eye into the picture.

Olá Fernando,
Linda montanha cônica, emoldurada por nuvens brancas. Só isto já faria uma bela foto. Mas temos ainda uma marina em águas plácidas e um mar com um brilho discreto, salpicado de prata. Eu adoro as fotos dos Açores, o arquipélago é mágico - e o fotógrafo ótimo.

Hi Fernando. Nice work here but a suggestion would be to use a graduated ND filter. That would give you more density across the mountain. But you captured the intimidation factor of the volcano well. Nice work Fernando!

Impresive view. The best for me is the mountain behind all with the clouds and the reflections so well POV.

Bonjour Fernando,
oui, en efet, des allumes de Mont Fugi, avec ces nuages tout autour du sommet, un peu des allures de volcan aussi. Une photo un peu à contrejour mais que tu as dompté, les lumières et les reflets sont beaux.
J'urais cadré un rien plus haut pour éviter cette zone d'ombre en bas à droite.
Des îles à visiter.

Pois é, de facto tenho andado desaparecida (principalmente no que diz respeito a criticas), mas estou a melhorar esse ponto. Estou de volta ;)

Em relação à foto, gosto muito da composição com a montanha no background.
As cores, a luz e os detalhes estão maravilhosos. Parabéns!

beautoful photo. Composed very well, with a great view on the mountain as well as a nice view of the marina. The blues in the water are fantastic. There seems to be a bit too much light in the sky though. Perhaps playing with curves to darken it a bit would improve that.
