Photographer's Note

This actual Post is one more dedicated to the "Week of the Sea" that have place at Horta town at Faial Island at the second week of August 2005. Here you can see at long distance the S.George Island that I didn't visit and at your right a little bit of Pico, that you must know something in my previous posts.

During this week there are many nautic and popular events linked to popular and tradition festivities in the town, that you can see in this post with the sportiv and transport activity at Horta.

IMPORTANT Note: The weather was good with some nice clouds formation and the shot was taken at 16H06 GMT with the sun at near my backwords.

Aditional Information: ISO=80, Focal Lenght=109mm and Polarizer Filter.

These beautiful Islands are located in the vast Atlantic Ocean somewhere half a way between Europe and North America. Faial and Pico are part of the five Central Islands, that are visited all the year for several thousand of tourists and sea navigators from all the world. It's like a world navigation network!

These are natural and preserved nature wonders that have Sailors, Solitaire navigators and important world tourism and preserved Sportiv Game-Fishing with people linked to United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe and also naturally to Continental Portugal.

Beautiful blue sky with well defined clouds. That bit of land to the left of the frame gives good perspective to this shot and of course the water so brilliantly blue. Well seen Fernando.

Bom ponto de vista, e excelente limpidez, sharp e cores. As cores bastantes atraentes. O enquadramento está igualmente bem conseguido. Comcordo com Leonor, o tempo passado nas ilhas foi muito bem aproveitado!!!!

The light and dark blue colour in water give a excellent effect, the rocks on the leftside is very well placed, a pattern for enjoying.

Hi Fernando, I like this well composed picture. You have well made use of the one third dividing in the arrangement. A nice view of the dynamics of the moving boats in this quiet ocean surface. Nice color contrast and nice sharpness. Well done.

A beautiful composition of the sea with the mountain, the fantastic clouds and the boats adding life to the scene. I find the faint blue of the distant land very interesting and the movement of the ship turning back towards the centre maintaining our attention inside the frame. The colours are superb. I like the strong blues in this photo with the white of the boats and the clouds to contrast. Then the cliff emerges into the frame to give extra texture and colour

This is a very nice great blue sea, you have well managed the spaces here to give a volume from the cliff.

Obrigado pelos seus comentários tão entusiásticos ao meu post. Retribuo com esta bonita imagem da série da 'semana do mar' no Faial. Gosto de ver o conjunto de barcos neste espaço, uns maiores e outros mais pequenos, uns em movimento e outros a descansar, numa dinâmica interessante. O penhasco à esquerda enquadra e equilibra bem o cenário e o resto é cor para disfrutar. A suave mancha de terra ao longe constitui um interessante horizonte e o enquadramento em ws também está muito bem com as rochas a formarem o 1º plano. Parabéns e muito obrigado!
