Photographer's Note

The peninsula most eastern of the Madeira Island , with 9 km of length and 2 km of width, includes two ilhéus (Ilhéu of Cevada and Ilhéu of Is Lourenço), was declared Natural Reserve in 1982 with the objective to preserve its fauna, flora and inheritance geológica.A vegetation of Is Lourenço is special and only, not for being still unchanged, but due to presence of important groups that virtually are confined to this area. This reserve, for beyond the vegetation, is the home of many species of birds, and even of some marine wolves that 0ccasionally are seen.
