Euro2004 is coming!, a photo from Coimbra, North

2004 is the year of the 2nd most important event on football world (following the Worl Cup): the European Cup.

This edition will hapen in Portugal and for the event, new arquitectonic simbols are invading the participant citys: there are new amazing stadiuns and a few old ones were re-builded in order to receive the competition matches.

This one is situated in Coimbra, the portuguese "students city", and was remodeled from the original one.
This beautiful stadium is a Portuguese symbol, since is the stadium where the football team "Académica de Coimbra" plays, which is one of the most mistic teams in this country. In the past only had students from the Coimbra´s University playing on it and was one of the most important vehicles of the "freedom" message that blowed in Portugal to stop the ditatourial regime from Salazar in the 70´s. The Coimbra students academy is still nowadays a symbol of irreverence and inconformism and is the main voice for university students demands on the portuguese governments.

That's a interesting work here really well composed. The merging zone are hardly visible and there is absolutely no distorsion. That's a great panorama !

A most intersting panorama... It really captures all the elemets of a soccer field. Very crowded, very colorful, and sportive tension in the air... Well done!

Great panorama photo. I can spot the seam easily, probably because I did a lot of panorama work too, but forgetting technical detail this is a nice photo.
Can't wait for Portugal 2004.

Stunning Picture - you don't see any photo stitch. Can you give me any tips for making a great stitched image?

The composition is dramatic and the focus is well put. Even in the small image - with distortion it is interesting

I love this photo Marco, not only because it's an impressive piece of photo-stitching, but also because it's getting me excited about the forthcoming tournament. I will hopefully be in Portugal in June to support England along, who I believe are playing their first game against France in this very stadium if I'm not mistaken? I'll be able to see it first-hand!

Wow i really love this pocture, great panoramic view, i love the eye vision of this picture, well done, haven't been to Portugal yet, hope to visit in June for the Euro 2004.
