To describe what's happening here, i will copy the information i get, which i had already posted here:


As i had promised here, i will start to show you the Minerva's Stairs, who is located in the west of this photo, like it's note says.

I tried to find some information of this one, but i couldn't get the information that i wanted!
So, i will only show you the information that i get of Minerva:

"Minerva was a Roman goddess of crafts, poetry and wisdom, and is known as the inventor of music. Minerva was the daughter of Jupiter. She was considered to be the virgin goddess of warriors, poetry, medicine, wisdom, commerce, crafts, and the inventor of music. As Minerva Medica, she was the goddess of medicine and doctors.

Adapting Greek myths about Athena, Romans said that Minerva was not born in the usual way, but rather Jupiter had a horrible headache and Vulcan opened up his head and out came Minerva, fully grown, and dressed in armor, a long trailing robe, a helmet, a shield and a spear.

Minerva was worshipped throughout Italy, though only in Rome did she take on a warlike character. Her worship was also taken out to the empire - in Britain, for example, she was conflated with the wisdom goddess Sulis.

As patron goddess of wisdom, Minerva frequently features in statuary, an image on seals, and in other forms, at educational establishments", like in University of Coimbra.

These stairs are located in the West entrance of the University of Coimbra, who is turned to the historical center of the city. I think that's because, a long time ago, the old pupils (who lived in the historical center) could every day, in the entrance, felt honored by belonging to this university, represented by the goddess of wisdom! It makes all the sense or am i crazy!? ;)
