Hello friends,
Here is a photo with a sprig of flowering almond trees.
Version a black and white .

The almond (Prunus dulcis, syn. Prunus amygdalus Batsch., Amygdalus communis L., Amygdalus dulcis Mill.), is a species of tree native to the Middle East and South Asia. Almond is also the name of the edible and widely cultivated seed of this tree. Within the genus Prunus, it is classified with the peach in the subgenus Amygdalus, distinguished from the other subgenera by the corrugated shell (endocarp) surrounding the seed.
The fruit of the almond is not a true nut, but a drupe, consisting of an outer hull and a hard shell with the seed ("nut") inside. Shelling almonds refers to removing the shell to reveal the seed. Almonds are commonly sold shelled , after the shells are removed), or unshelled , with the shells still attached). Blanched almonds are shelled almonds that have been treated with hot water to soften the seedcoat, which is then removed to reveal the white embryo.

Legend of almond blossom

Many, many centuries before Portugal exist and when the Al-Gharb (Algarve) belonged to the Arabs, Chelb reigned in the future Silves, the famous young King Ibn-Almundim had never known defeat. One day, among the prisoners of a battle, he saw the beautiful Gilda, a princess blond with blue eyes and proud bearing. Impressed, the Moorish king gave him his freedom, gradually earned him the trust and one day he confessed his love to him and asked him to be his wife. They were happy for a while, but one day the young princess fell ill for no apparent reason. An old captivity of the Northern lands asked to be received by the desperate king and told him that the princess suffered from nostalgia for the distant snow in your country. The solution was within reach of the Moorish king, for ordering to plant enough for all his kingdom many almond trees flowered when its white flowers to the princess would give the illusion of snow and she would be cured of your longing. The following spring, the king took Gilda to the window from the terrace of the castle and the princess felt that its forces were returning to see that vision of indescribable white flowers that stretched before his eyes. The Moorish king and the princess lived long years of an intense love of anxious waiting, year after year, the spring that brought the wonderful spectacle of the almond blossom.

A very different atmosphere from your previous version, but this is my favourite. I like the soft tones, the touch of grey in the blue of the sky.

Olá Gonçalo,

The close-up shot of the almond blossoms, complemented by a entertaining and readable makes this a good post. I imagine, you don't get much snow, the way Northern Europe did. The pictures I've seen of Switzerland specially reveals the parked cars all covered in many centermeters of ice and snow, unlike the flowers of Portugal.

Your country Portugal is more warm and the trees are faster in bloom.

Linda foto dessas flores de amendoeira. Aqui no Brasil temos dessa árvore, mas nunca reparei se ficam floridas assim, talvez sejam de tipos diferentes ou mesmo devido a variações climáticas.

It is unusual to see blossom in b/w but this really works very well. A lovely range of tones have been captured. The composition is excellent with the main branch across the diagonal.

esta versión en blanco y negro de las flores del almendro es original, aunque confieso que prefiero la versión en color, que tiene más fuerza visual.
De todas formas, el grafismo y la nitidez de la imagen son notables, la luz está muy bien gestionada, y la profundidad de campo enfatiza la calidad del primer plano, con un bonito efecto tridimensional.
Es un buen trabajo, como siempre.
