Bellow some notes of the Answers.com-online dictionary
The Manueline, or Portuguese late Gothic is the sumptuous, composite Portuguese style of architectural ornamentation of the first decades of the 16th century, incorporating maritime elements and representations of the discoveries brought from the voyages of Vasco da Gama and Pedro Álvares Cabral.
This style was much influenced by the astonishing successes of the voyages of discovery of Portuguese navigators, from the coastal areas of Africa to the discovery of Brazil and the ocean routes to the Far East, drawing heavily on the style and decorations of East Indian temples.

HI Armando,
striking even from the thumbnail .. intense detail and dimension .. amplified by the light and contrast .. at least at this size hand holding it seems to have worked .. I am not sure about the black overhang on the right .. but very nice image.
take care,
John

Hola Armando.
One of the finest gothic monuments of the world. I love it. Really I prefer the romanesque, but this gothic is impressive too.
Regards.

Ciao Armando! Another beautiful shot from your portugal. Here I like the asymmetrical composition and the beautiful contrast of light and shadows, underlined by the different colors. I think you did well not to change it in a BW photo (also the temptanio was stong, or I'm wrong?). The only spot is the black angle on the top right (a nartece?), but I think you were leaninig the camera on a wall, so you could not avoid it!
Good note also!
Thanks for sharing
Laura
