Photographer's Note
From the church of yesterday's post, we had to go all the way down, to return to the main road and continue the cycling trough the fields of Alentejo.
The image is far from perfection and the sunlight was very strong, resulting on a bit of overexposition on the right side of the photo, but I liked this advantage point of view and perspective, from which we could see the landscape and the continuation of the road behind that house downthere.
That electric post at left and the wires can disturb a bit, but there was nothing I could do to avoid them and I'm not too good cloning things out, but feel free to criticize or/and suggest anything else useful.
Taken in a very small village, not so far from the village of Avis.

Hi Ricardo!
For the first time, I will not be your 70th visitor and commentator! ;)
Great, very appealing photo! Please, leave the wires! I think I will start a wires fan club! Na! They are not always that beautiful, I'll admit, but I feel for them. You know, I will paraphrase Romain Gary in his so troubling book White dog, I'm always on the side of the minority...
Overexposition? Where? I don't think there is that much white pixels at 255 here. So, don't bother with that. Very beautiful streets. The steep foreground one and the one at the back. I love the colors. It is a very enjoyable photo and I am happy to see that you are getting to use your new "beast"! ;) Keep them coming, my friend!

"Far from perfection" and "Samsung Pro815.
Hi Ricardo.
We shouldn't search perfection, we should search suggerent images.
And... I have no idea about that camara, but I like the photo.
Interesting view of Avis. Remebers me Spanish landscape (well, we are neighbours).
Thanks for share.

Sometimes the little towns in Portugal remember me some in Mexico and sometimes this places looks more to portugal than Spain, and makes me feel in home, even the wires, in many cityes in Psian this are undergrown in Portugal are in the air, just like Mexico and latinamerica. I like this piciture the houses, shadows, ligth and the guy in the bicycle, the stones street and the road all makes a good composition, I'm a gree you could crop just the top of this pciture to avoid the overexpose, but is just a tiny part of this picture i like this way.

Hej Ricardo,
Great view! I like really much to look down the road here and to see another road behind the house as well. The colours are also very nice and pleasant and that cyclist is a wonderful detail. Very good work! :-)

Hi Ricardo,
Like the perspective and composition of this photo, the bloke on the bike going downhill and the road continuing farther down. I like the strong sunlight, (we have that here in summer in Australia)I think it enhances the colour in the houses personally! Who's to say it's far from perfection? It's all a matter of taste, personally, I love it!! Really great shot. Well done
Cheers Tina

Ola Ricardo,
Wow! That looks steep. Hope you had good brakes on your bicycle! :o)
You're right about the light which is a bit harsh but the POV is very good and gives a good idea of the environment around the village. Looks like you had a nice time cycling around.

Hi Ricardo,
Yes, this perspective is interesting with a continuation of the road down side. You're right with the strong sun, but I know You can't wait till the sun will be less "powerfull". i was in Alentejo before 6 days (Portalegre, Marvao...) and I can remember sun work very well (with the temperatures about 45 C). But this picture is still good, it shows us some charm of this beautiful region.

maki

I don't see that the white is over-exposed; it's bright white in full sunlight - that's all. We can even see the texture which we wouldn't if it was over-exposed. I think you handled the light brilliantly and with your new toy too. Because the cables are mixed in with the scenery they are not so noticable, so I wouldn't worry about that either.
I agree with you about the composition and POV. Looking down the hill and then beyond gives the shot so much depth. I don't know if you had to wait patiently for some human life, but the cyclist is the icing on the cake.

I like the continuation of the 2 downward sloping (& seemingly disconnected) roads. Good sharpness, color, & lighting. Parabens!

Ola Ricardo,
I share Kath's opinion that the whites are just plain brilliant whites and not overexposed, knowing the shooting conditions in Portugal it's a good point for your new camera and your shooting skills. I see a debate going on about the wires, they should not be cloned just for the sake of it, when a wires network is an integral part of a village scene as here then it has to be kept, and technically speaking it would not here be possible to clone them out without significantly alterating the photo quality. And I like too this descending perspective, but I should stop talking here as you need to get back on your bike, I see Madame Ricardo is well ahead already ;-)
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

love this countryside of portugal, the white walls with yellow/blue/red stripes;
see how much a human can "improve" the image? without the rider this picture would look as if missing something, place would look "empty" a bit;
best wishes, j.

Uff Ricardo, what an impressing image. I think that to ride there one must have very strong brakes... Uch, I like the perspective very much. Great!
And the quality is perfect for me, maybe your note is about other photo ;).

Hola Ricardo

There is a very good rendering of the going down road due to the facades, I like the colors especialy this yellow which is for me typical from your country (supplier might be rich)..
Like too the depth to the countryside and the light

Hello Ricardo,

Very nice POV here, I like the fact that the road goes steeply down and then we can see it continuing behind the house. Very good perspective, several layers that work perfectly together. Good to include this cycler as well. And the overexposure does not bother me at all, in fact I like the light and colours, gives a real feeling of summer.
Cheers

hi Ricardo,
I guess i will start with this photo in your gallery and bring up the 50 for this photo. I am not a big fan of wires, but in this case, there is no way that I would have cloned them as I believe that they bring out the strong character for this scene.
I love this view ... minimalistic composition with no sky at top and the emergence of the road after the house in the center.
nice work mate .... thanks for the share ... regards ... sarju

Josep

This perspective looks great..down down all the way. The composition is great & the cyclist, well, it was worth waiting for . The white houses with yellow borders look very nice indeed for your framing, for a picture that offers fantastic depth.
