Photographer's Note

I've already finished my theme "Churches in the Alentejo", so, to start the new one, I had to choose one of my favourite churches - Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Serpa. I have several photos of this church already but I've looked in my archives and I found another one with my favourite pov. It needed some edition, but here it is now. It was taken a couple of years ago, on the same day of the two last ones I've posted.

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe dates from the beginning of the 16th century and it's Mudéjar style. It's a very simple place, without much decoration, as you can see, a real country chapel. I guess that's what makes it so special, at least to me.
The devotion to Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe came from Spain and now She is the patron saint of Serpa and every year, during Easter, there's a pilgrimage and big celebrations, with processions. It seems that this strong devotion has even started much time before the construction of the chapel.
It's situated on the top of a hill, in the countryside, not far from Serpa.

Le bel éclairage et la qualité d'image mettent bien en valeur cette église dans toute sa blancheur et nous font bien voir les détails. Belle architecture, excellent rendu des blancs et superbe harmonie de couleurs avec le ciel.

É uma bela igreja, mas a pergunta parece-me inevitável: o que é que aconteceu às barras azuis? (ou amarelas).

Este ano pintaram a estação ferroviária de Pegões, mas mudaram as anteriores barras azuis para cinzento! Um horror.

The fresh white of the church contrasts so well with the sky given to you, a fine POV to show us the shapes and texture in this church. No blown out details whatsoever so well done with the exposures.

Olá Anabela, há limite de fotos num tema? Não sabia...É linda e a exposição nestas paredes brancas está excelente. Gosto muito das texturas que me fazem lembrar neve...é só o que vejo agora que já caiu a 1ª neve por aqui :)

Ana,
um dos aspectos que noto nessas suas fotos de pequenas igrejas do interior de portugal, é o cuidado e manutenção das mesmas. A cada ano, por influência da chuva, ventos e poeira, sei que essas paredes estariam bastante sujas.
Entretanto, elas estão limpas e brancas como que tivessem sido pintadas hoje.
Gostei do seu ponto de vista e da beleza do céu azul em bonita harmonia.

Bonjour Ana,
le Portugal et surtout le sud je pense, nous offre comme la grêce, ces magnifiques batiments d'un blanc immaculé et net sous des ciels des plus bleus.
Une photo où ces blancs ensoleillés sont parfaitement capturés et balancés, ce qui était je pense, la grande difficulté.

Esplêndida composição. Muito bom ponto de vista, revelando vários detalhes desta singular arquitetura. Magnífico contraste entre a igreja toda branca e o céu, de um azul intenso. Excelente luz, destacando a textura da alvenaria com grande nitidez.

Je note ici une bonne maîtrise de l'exposition sachant que le blanc ensoleillé a une tendance à sous exposer les images.
On remarque que la lumière rase les murs ce qui permet d'appécier la texture.

Hi Ana,
this church looks so different and unique. I've never seen anything like that. The texture of the walls is very interesting. The white washed walls are nicely contrasted against the beautiful sky.

This white church looks like a fortress, very bold and imposing. At the same time the white and blue of the sky set a very dynamic contrast, what makes me think of Greece. The architecture looks a bit similar, however I could be mistaken. Vibrant colors with high sharpness. well done have a nice day

A exposição controlada bem permite ver com precisão todos os detalhes desta fachada branca. Uma fotografia que não é muito fácil de fazer, mas muito bem dominada. A arquitectura é magnífica, e espantosamente mantida. Uma imagem muito agradável. Bravo.

No es fácil fotografiar un sujeto totalmente blanco, al menos para mi, y tu lo has logrado de una manera perfecta. La exposición es muy buena y el contraste del blanco y el azul también.
