Photographer's Note

As this will probably be my last post before Christmas, I'm posting another photo of Monsaraz (taken last year because I haven't been there this year .... yet)
This time I'm posting a sheperd with his sheep and a cat, as there wasn't a dog around.
This Nativity scene has around 40 real size characters placed all through the village and it was created by the sculptor Teresa Martins.

essas esculturas são das mais interessantes mesmo, e aqui gostei da presença do gato dando um pouco mais de vida a cena. Belo trabalho.

one more character in your theme for which i found interesting the colour tones association between the robe/headgear, the old stones/cobbles and the cat too.
an altogether nicely illuminated scene, with warm light! Sharpness is at its best...

Parece-me que ainda não é este ano que vou a Monsaraz no Natal... Bolas... Mas sempre vou vendo as tuas belas fotos. Nesta tens um artista convidado e tudo, e de carne e osso! Gosto imenso, é curioso como está tudo em tons de castanho.

Que passes um bom Natal, que promete ser muito frio e molhado.

Hello Anabela,;-) Nice capture, excellent textures on the walls & colour. I like the inclusion of the well placed cat, it adds life & tends to blend in with the stones on the wall well. nice presentation of this sculpture of this shepherd with his sheep. Nice the presence of the real cat, it is really contrasting and enhanced the beauty. Nice use of depth of field to show all detail of the background stony wall. Great light and colour. Very well composed one. Tfs.

mais uma bela vista do natal nesta vila. Gosto muito deste enquadramento, a luz e a nitidez estão perfeitas. a presença do gato nos põe na vida real e adicionam uma atmosfera mais familiar à cena. bem feita

Bonjour Ana!
Bien qu'ayant inclus cette photo dans mon thème "Christmas Nativities in Europe", je n'avais pas pris le temps de m'y arrêter ! C'est maintenant que je l'admire par hasard et que je la compare à tes autres nativités de Monsaraz; et je la trouve très belle:
-- Pour le POV, avec ce berger qui vient de tourner au coin de la rue suivi de l'agneau.
--Pour la texture du mur qui donne un très bel effet;
--Et enfin, pour la présence du chat, qui lui est bien vivant, dont les couleurs se marient bien avec l'ensemble, et qui donne une touche d'humour à l'image, comme s'il disait:" Eh bien, moi aussi, je veux aller voir Jésus! Je vous attends d'ailleurs, et je vous y mènerai, car je connais les lieux!"
Merci beaucoup pour cette superbe contribution aux crèches de noël!
