Portuguese farm II, a photo from Lisboa, South

Photographer's Note

I begin 2010 with another sunny Portuguese farm scan -- another random encounter in wanderings through central Portugal in the early 1990s and another example of the solid, practical and harmonious groups of buildings I came to love. This farm is very much like the models I described in my note on my earlier post>. Once again, I can't say exactly where I took this image, except that it was somewhere in the hills west of Vila Franca de Xira.
A very happy, peaceful and fulfilling new year to you all.

J'aime beaucoup ta série sur le Portugal . Il faut dire que j'apprécie énormément cette architecture . Peut être que la qualité technique qui n'est pas parfaite , les couleurs un peu fanées , confèrent à ces clichés anciens un charme suppémentaire . La composition est en outre splendide ici .

Nice architecture photo, with great composition and framing! Flawless light management and beautiful colours! There is something wrong with the sharpness or the definition of the photo, maybe because of the resizing process!

Another Portuguese farm with an excellent composition with the use of the 'lead-in' track. It would be interesting to know if these farms you visited are still there. Although the quality has suffered from the scan as before, it is still worthwhile going through the process of digitising many previous film images before they are 'lost'

I like the shot of farmhouses in differents country.
Hare, a very typische farmhouse of the south of Portugal with white wall and red roofs. Excellent and interetsing scan's work. i like the POV with the small way which give prospect nad invite to discovery.

La mise en image avec ce petit chemin est une véritable invitation à découvrir les lieux.

Reading the comments so far and with very few exceptions it's sad to see so many "photographers" being blind to this extend... sorry to speak hard words this image is terrible for all details have been annihilated here. I see it's a scanned image so if the printed version looked good please throw your scanner through the window at once.

For some reason I cannot reply to your critique on the Woods Point Servo photo I posted recently, it comes up and says I'm not logged in or I don't have those privileges - what the!!!!. Just letting you know that I have posted another view in workshop.
Nice POV of this remote looking Farmhouse with its fabulous architecture. I can imagine that they would have great views overlooking that valley in the BG and that they have good TV reception judging by the amount of Aerial's.

I like the rural scenery of Portugual, we see often the city with great architecture. The quality if really not the best, but a good composition that depict the farmer more humble way of life. A very good effort and thanks for sharing.

Hello Mary,

The gravel track makes a fine lead-in to this picturesque farm!
The white wall with the red roofs are typical, even if faded by the sun through the years...
A well balanced composition with good details, the dominating wild flowers in front adds to the mood..!
