This is my fourth picture from the Medieval Fair in Sacavém

The Medieval Fair of Sacavém. The rows of market stalls, where practical and decorative items made in the spirit of the Middle Ages are sold, create the real feeling of a fair. Along with the public, over a fifty actors, numerous musicians, dancers, beggars, victims of the plague and other performers liven up the market spirit. Outdoor reenactments performed amidst the public bring to the stage noblemen and peasants, clergymen, merchants, artisans and jesters. The displays by master craftsmen and apprentices, provides an insight into traditional medieval handicrafts. Also local traditional gastronomy will served in a true medieval atmosphere.
About: Sacavém is a Portuguese city and parish , in the municipality of Loures, just a few kilometers northeast of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The parish covers an area of 3.81 km², with a population of 17,659 inhabitants.
Sacavém was very well-known for its famous ceramics.

Hello Filipe,

Fights which do not seem to me very violent but which are a success for the visitors who appear to appreciate the spectacle… A good framing on this medieval scene with this torch on the right which gives much of depth to the image, contrasts give punch to the composition. Interesting glance, thank you Filipe.

Hello Filipe, last year I attended several medieval fairs in Queluz and Obidos. However, I didn't see this one in Sacavem. I think, medieval combats seem to be much more fair than todays dirty wars.

Good composition of this Middle Age scene. A sequence of Europeans history is played for tourists and gives us back our history. Vibrant color hues with high sharpness too. Well done

Thanks for your critique of my extended Family shot from Kuala Kedah - in some countries it is custom that a whole family lives under one roof. That also was the case in Europe many decades ago.

Hi Filipe,

An excellent composition. Your inclusion of the large torch is really attractive. I also like the shadows of the rope with flags that is cordoning off the arena. Lovely strong colours and attractive lighting. TFS and have a nice Sunday evening!
