Photographer's Note

This is my first post of the Nativity Scene from this year. Some changes have been made, including the colours.It's an event that usually attracts many people to Monsaraz. This year, it has 43 real size characters, created by the sculptor Teresa Martins, that are placed all through the village. You can find them in the most amazing places. There are beggers sitting on the stairs of the church, a woman taking water from the well, women and children in the streets...

questi splendidi personaggi disseminati par la città di Monsaraz creano un bellissimo effetto donandoci una magnifica atmosfera. La foto è bellissima, nitida, colorata e molto luminosa, la qualità ed il POV sono perfetti.

Hi Ana
I remember the previous years posts.. these are indeed of a different colours of clothes. I like your shooting angle, it gives the impression these are real people walking down the streets... and quite many of them too.

eu também já associo esse tema da Natividade em Monsaraz com você. O Natal é mesmo uma data encantadora. Gosto de vivenciar todos os detalhes desta época do ano e sua foto é uma bonita lembrança. A luz do dia define muito bem cada detalhe da rua estreita com os personagens distribuídos ao longo do calçamento.

una curiosa combinación de arquitectura blanca y perspectiva de la calle, con estas esculturas de personajes de la Natividad, que ofrecen un ambiente muy especial de la celebración navideña en este bonito pueblo.
La luz y las sombras juegan un buen papel en la composición.

Muito bem, à tua medida este presépio:)
Mesmo muito bem fotografado, grande POV, as cores deste ano a ditarem a tendência da próxima primavera:)
Enquadramento perfeito a dar profundidade à rua até a personagem lá no fundo.A escada, a fachada à esquerda e por fim a clareza e luminosidade do sol para aquecer o frio entre muralhas.

Olá Ana,
Monsaraz has clearly found its own and special way to celebrate Christmas with the many real size characters placed all over the town. From on some distance they also look like real people.
You've composed this picture very well showing us the characters and also the architecture of this white town with the beautiful balconies and with the white stairs.
Even in December the weather seems to be very sunny.

I have understood that they were some artistic statues only after to have read your text. I had believed that they were of the masked persons. their attitude is very natural one, and the effect of their being placed on this way is of great impression. the pastel tonalities of their dress are magnificent against the candid white of the houses. thanks for to have shown us this interesting event.

como sempre o cenário da cidade se casa muito bem com as figuras, parece mesmo que estamos na terra santa. muito bonita a maneira como vc enquadrou as esculturas, ótima luz, nitidez e tudo o mais. perfeito o trabalho. quem sabe este ano consigo conhecer esta cidade

last days I am specially interested about Portugal's gallery, because in October Portugal is honor guest of Belgrade's books fair. Also I find many post cards in DELCAMPE of Portugal's cities and motifs. Nice experience it is.
