Time for Transhumance - XVIII, a photo from Guarda, North

Photographer's Note

Once again, I joined the shepherds and followed the route of transhumance, leading around 1000 sheep and goats from Seia to Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in Portugal, where they are going to spend the summer, because it's not so hot and they have better pastures. I 've already forgotten about the heat and the dust, it was an amazing experience to be among so many animals and to have the chance to talk with the shephers and listen to their stories.

just the animals today :)
look at the eyes of the dog, wonderful how they catch the light like that. Thats a dog I could take home, and his coat looks clean and cared for.

no stress to worry about during this walk, just take the experience given to you. a very pleasing shot for us animal lovers out there

Hello Ana,
A very nice photo of the goat mother and her child escorted by a friendly dog along the road. The colours are very good and there are fine contrasts between light and dark areas.

Shapherd dogs are none to be the best coexistence animals, keeping guard of the sheep & goats.
Wonderfully shown the trio here, the dog was looking directly at you... a dedicated guard.

A lovely illustration of your interesting note. It only seems to me that the dog doesn’t agree with you and think it is rather warm the moment you took the picture.
