Photographer's Note

As it's becoming a tradition for me, I visited Cabeça once again, to see how it's decorated this year and also to feel the Christmas spirit, far away from the shopping centres.
Situated in the Estrela Mountain, the highest mountain in Portugal, this village, with less than 200 inhabitants is receiving thousands of visitors this month. Helped by Gil&Alberto, two eco designers, the inhabitants decorated their houses and streets for Christmas, but all the decorations are made of materials from the mountain, what makes it the most ecological Christmas in Portugal.

I like as the lights reflect themselves on the wall, in an almost fairy way; there is something of simple and smart in their ecological nature...

Ola Ana!

A fine principle: decorations taken from natural material instead of producing them to last only for a short time and then be thrown away. I appreciate that.

And - as far as I can see - this year's only New Year's greeting here at TE showing a small form.

I wish you and all of your family a happy New Year in a good health, and this is my last New Year wishing for 2017 as my number of available critiques has expired.

your scene has alot of ambiance and that all important festive spirit. the green and red combination works well. as does the glare on the window, nice shot. Happy New Year!

Hello Ike,

This is quite unseasonal, especially when we learn about all the droughts that are happening but this photograph has such a wonderful, festive atmosphere. The baubles and fairy lights surrounding the window create the mood and then, moving inwards, the warm lights from the window, seem to complete the welcome.
