Porto is known as being a "pretty" city for tourists, a very photogenic city for tourists - which is 100% correct. However it also has its gritty side with plenty of Abandoned homes and churches.

Please keep in mind that I took these photos from a moving boat during a tour of the city - something i rarely ever do, but since it was my 2nd time here in 4 years, I wanted to do something different.

Most of you know I have a love and passion/appreciation for abandoned subjects. I spend so much of my time hunting these places and then exploring inside of them as well.

Sadly that didn't happen this time around in Porto. I guess I'll have to make a 3rd visit :)

We spent 3.5 days in Porto, and it was raining and cold all but 1 of them. My wife was 4 months pregnant and she was very cold and tired. If the weather was co-operating I would have explored these abandoned buildings, but the situation wasn't right.

We had only 1 sunny warm day, so that was spent visiting the usual hotspots. If we had 3 sunny days, that would have been different :) Then I would have went exploring.

These homes are very close to the city centre, only a couple of minutes away from the famous Porto Bridge, and they're easily accessible from a near by road. When I noticed that I was excited, but then also disappointed that we couldn't go. I wonder what they look like inside as its so tempting bc the front door appears to be open. From my experience, this home most likely still has furniture inside which makes it that much more interesting.

Please take a look at the WS for another similar view, and I'll be posting 2 or 3 more as well.
