You Never Know What You'll Find, a photo from Porto, North

I thought I had already posted this one, but obviously not.

For obvious reasons, I had to capture this scene when it presented itself as I was walking down the street.

This is one of those unexpected photos. I remember thinking I had walked the streets and hills of Porto to my satisfaction over a number of days...so I decided to go off the grid and walk the streets in the more residential areas. It paid off.

One more thing, it always amazes me how you can find the SAME color in the subject with the people in the scene. For example here, the light shade of blue streaks on the wall match almost exactly with the man's pants.

Hello Craig,
The painting on the facade seems to be a tribute to a certain person, but I do not recognise this person.
Not only the jeans but also the colour of the bicycle and of the sky are just a slightly deeper version of the blue on the facade.

Nice street scene. The mural is well-done, and, like you said, the blue accents of the jeans and bicycle compliment the blue sections of the artwork. That poor, little tree on the left side looks a bit sad, though! Take care...

Hello Craig,
I think I remember this giant portrait from my visit to Porto one year later. Unless I mix it up with someone else, because I think there were several paintings like this in that fascinating city. In any case I don't remember who this was supposed to show, which doesn't matter because the painting is interesting and cleverly made anyway. And such matching colours as you point out is what I would also be looking for. Always happy to find them. The red parasols break the colour scheme in a nice way.
Thanks for your latest critique. I have posted about two (2) photos from the "posh" district of Östermalm. I might go there on a real photo safari, but I actually like my own island better.

Hello Craig, whoever this painting depicts, it doesn’t matter, it is an excellent mural, well observed on your walk around the less important streets of the city.
The man adds to the whole as do the red parasols.

Hello Craig,

I wonder who this old person was, with wrinkled skin but sharp, alert eyes.

You spotted the colour combinations really well!
The cyclist's pants link well with the blue splashes across the mural and with the sky. Had you noticed the bicycle colour is closely toned, too!
I like how the red of the parasols cuts across, with this new colour, right on the thirds line!

Hi Craig,everyone described this portrait as masculine, while it is an elderly woman. It is the work of Daniel Eime, one of the most talented stencil artists working in Portugal and this mural in Miragaia is proof of this; depicts Agustina Bessa Luís, one of the most important writers of Porto. Fantastic photo of this large portrait of the elderly lady at the side of this building. The combination with the two red parasols is very nice as well and the sunlight is nice and pleasant. Also the person and his bike in the foreground is a good addition.

Nice street scene, with this huge mural of this lady's face, I guess she must be a well-known person in Portugal to dedicate such a large work to her, her portrait has a good quality. the red awnings on the terrace are a nice contrast to the work.

it is a beautiful mural, the old lady smiling is perfectly shown in the mural and in your compo. excellent the inclusion of the guy in the compo.
yes, sometimes we can find marvelous details out of the traditional track, sometimes not tourist cities gave me special surprises I didn't get in the famous ones.anyway some places has no interest even if you walk a lot there.
