Photographer's Note

The second photo of the Alentejo taken with my new camera, 12 days ago.

The temperatures are high and the fields are getting yellow.
There is much pleasure in cycling on these empty and quiet local roads of the countryside.
No cars and no people at sight during the day.

Feel the wind against the face and forget about the rush of the urban life.
There is much pleasure in cycling through these undulating fields of Alentejo.

Cropped the white sky.

Very beautiful shot indeed. very nice composition having the road off center.The cropped version is better than the one with the white sky.
The path is so peaceful.Though hot,I think this is a wonderful place to be. And you have done a great job capturing it. Nice details, clarity and lighting.

Hi Ricardo: Amazing shot. The intense yellow at top left and the road going deep in the centre produce a very depth vision. An human landscape because the cyclist. Very well!

Instead of yesterday's path, today we have a country lane to perform the same purpose in the composition. I like all the yellow grasses amidst the green of the trees, and the cyclist provides a welcome human element. (Your assistant again?)
I think you made the right choise to crop as the top of the frame doesn't hold any extra information and avoids the white sky.

Olá Ricardo,
Buena la perspectiva de esta tranquila carretera rodeada de vegetación. Los colores son buenos, y las ondulaciones que forma el terreno dan mucho grafismo a la imagen.
El ciclista pedaleando con tranquilidad es una relajante idea. Bien iluminada y con gran definición.

The road divides the yellow grass & the differences in levels as the road goes down...the lone cyclist..the thin slice of sky...what a beautiful compo. with my eyes easing along the road into the picture. Well done with your new camera!

Impressive capture of these yellow grasses, and bushes. The effect is stunning. The cyclist adds a good , extra detail and some scale as well. Nice exposure and great depth to the shot with the road disappearing into the distance. Very good work here.

This could be the final picture of a movie !
"Alentejo life stories", regisseur Ricardo Lopes, to be presented next year in Cannes...
The composition is lovely and shows a place where life goes along quietly, must look like sci-fi for people living in big cities. The golden tones hint for the summer, considering the abundance of bushes and trees must have been challenging to sharpen.

Hi Ricardo, Very peaceful rural scene captured here. The cyclist adds a great deal to this compsotion. Looks like the perfect way to travel in that good-looking weather. It would be a good place to paint. Interesting to see this place, it could be used for part of a movie scene. Well done. Murray.

PS tried a WS by using daub-mode to make it a painting for fun. First time tried.

Hello Ricardo!
This is a good photo. Simple and inspiring. Living in a big town, one of the thing I so much miss is cycling in the small country roads, breathing deeply the fresh air and the smell of the grass and plants around. You catch your "assistant" (read your note to Kath ;) ) just at the right moment, before she goes down. I like the panoramic kind of format for this one.

There is something great about this one starting from the asset showing us the big yellow round flower on the left and it covers almost half of the picture. Few people would dare starting from it, but here, you have shown us how succesful it can be and managed a truly interesting picture.

Este teu tema estava agora em Featured Theme na página inicial do TE.
Ainda não tinha apreciado esta foto. Está uma bela foto. Mas acho que a "mancha" amarela à esquerda está com um bocadinho de destaque a mais; talvez ficasse melhor mais pequena.
