Here you have another Spring shot taken on the same day and place of other two I have posted some months ago [1, 2].
Parque Eduardo VII is the the largest park of the centre of Lisboa. Its name comes from the British King who inaugurated it officially in 1902. The park already existed before that, but in those early years of the 20th century (the last ones of the monarchy) it was much enlarged and improved.
The image is a stitch of 3 horizontal shots taken without tripod. I used hugin to do the stitch.
WS's: Two photos of a flower in Estufa Fria, a botanical garden that is located in the park [1, 2]. These are one of the few photos of its kind that I ever tried.
Posts by other TE members of this park featuring much the same POV: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Location (latitude, longitude): 38.72950165,-9.153741

even we had not been there this year, this is for what I remember from 1983. Wonderful way to go back in time :-) Strong view down to the Tejo and fine details from the park with its interesting structure. Here the symmetry works as it does in reality also.

Bravo!
Amicalement
Denis!

Jose,
I remember seeing the same place in Goncalos gallery quite I while ago. I think his POV was higher shwoing the whole stretch of the garden down to the water. The symmetry is striking and the light is a good one to provide nice contrasts between the light exposed areas and the shadows.

hello jose,
symmetry worked well in this composition.
you have managed the light quite well.
however the details created by grass have been lost in this composition. but i think it is not possible to capture those details without extra equipments like ladders.

So much space, one of the true luxury items was still given to a couple hundred thousand of Lisbon inhabitants in 1902.
The two million that joined after no more got that chance.
100 years later, even if most of the park is still there, there is no way to capture the harmony of what once was this perspective.
Beginning with the horrible buildings on Pombal square.

Hello José. Very good wide perspective of this pristine landscape. The light and shadow crossing the hedges provide good contrast and the details of the backdrop is so sharp. Very good work deserved to be in top shelf. Well done and keep shooting and sharing. Best regards. Jusni

Hello José,
You have squeezed a lot of fine details into the frame!
The post processing is skillfully done, very nice work indeed...
The colour palette is influenced by the warm light, the fresh green of spring is very attractive!

Hi Jose, excellent perspective which allows us to see the Rio Tejo through Marques de Pombal Square. I prefer the laqrger version of course, in which we can see more details. Best regards, Tolga

hello jose
3 horizontal shot? I thought most LP is vertical format to be stitched? Anyway I have yet to try LP. And a good job for hand held shots.
The park is empty! Such a big park without a single person, what a surprise. But I like the vast open space of the park with trees only at each side to give clear lawn good for a public event hosting. And what a great view of the city at the far end from this angle.

ricardo
