Photographer's Note

Present Serbia is the sixth state in a row the National Assembly serves, and construction of the building was finished only during the time of the third. The founding stone was placed in 1907, when Belgrade was the capital of the Serbian Kingdom. The construction recommenced after the establishment of the Kingdom of the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, after the First World War (1914 – 1918), and was completed in the Yugoslav Kingdom (1936), which was dissolved by the German occupation in the Second World War (1939 – 1945).

From the outside, the National Assembly building is a harmonious unity of the High Renaissance and Ancient Greek styles, featuring Corinthian and Ionian columns, imposing cupola flanked with turrets, high portico accessible by a monumental staircase and densely distributed windows. Placed at each side atop the monument there is an additional cupola, while two angels guard the entrance above the doorway.

On the right side of the picture we can see tower of St. Mark's Church.

Lep pogled, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Lepa arhitektura, dobro poakzana sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najavljuju promenu vremena.

Dom Narodne skupstine Republike Srbije je objekat na trgu Nikole Pasića u Beogradu. Izvorno poznata pod nazivom Skupstina Kraljevine Jugoslavije od 1936. do 1945. godine kada je preimenovana u Saveznu skupstinu. Nov naziv se odrzao kroz vremena postojanja Socijalisticke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije i kasnije Savezne Republike Jugoslavije. Nakon raspada Drzavne zajednice Srbije i Crne Gore, 23. jula 2006. godine ovaj Dom postaje zvanicno zdanje Narodne skupstine Republike Srbije.
Izgradnja parlamenta je trajala veoma dugo, skoro 30 godina. Kamen temeljac je 27. avgusta 1907. godine položio kralj Srbije Petar I Karadjordjevic, ali je gradnja prekinuta izbijanjem Prvog svetskog rata. Nastavak radova nije otpoceo odmah nakon zavrsetka rata, pa je zgrada dovresna tek 1936. godine, a prvo zasedanje Narodne skupstine Kraljevine Jugoslavije u ovoj zgradi je odrzano 21. oktobra 1936. godine. Zgradu parlamenta je projektovao arhitekta Jovan Ilkic, koji je preminuo 1917. godine, ne docekavsi završetak izgradnje.
Odlukom Skupstine grada Beograda iz 1984. godine Dom narodne skupstine je proglasen za spomenik kulture.
