Montjuïc #1, a photo from Barcelona, Cataluña

Photographer's Note

I have my "new" camera (minimum is third hand!) But I had no budget and I'm happy. It is far more comprehensive than I had before and decided to experiment and learn to use it manually getting photos that I will teach you to criticize me! :)

What can I say about the place?

For the Montjuic Telecommunications Tower is the work of the architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava, was built between 1989 and 1992 in the Montjuïc Olympic Ring of Barcelona (Catalonia) during the 1992 Olympics.

The orientation of the tower itself does act as a sundial, casting the shadow of the central needle on the square in Europe. It also presents the new technique of including a circular platform with plates of data transmission.

And that is one of my favorite places in my city, you can see the whole city in our area more "green"

I have not done any post processing as I'm trying to know the camera and how to go more "good work" I don't know how to translate! (only the frame!)

Hola Cristina,
Wonderful orange/red/yellow tone dominating the Barcelona sky, with the iconic needle-tower in Fg and the new tower on BG, new to me anyhow.
the moon also participating...
No need to post processing - the result here is fantastic.

Hello Cristina,

The image that you have here has a very dramatic and rich gradation of colors. I especially like the puddle of water in the lower right hand corner with a reflection of the lower tower (a lamp post?) in it. I see a shadowy figure in the foreground, is he a part of the composition? To put the tower in silhouette is a very nice touch. Overall atmosphere is very calm and peaceful. The result is a very successful image.

Hi Cristina
A bold and so striking sillouette at twilight.with the telcom tower being the main dominant feature. The lovely blue and rich golden evening colors is fantastic as is the contrast with the main subject. Subtle, very well seen and lovely tranquil feel. The lone figure in the foreground adds another wee dimension to the shot too. The general scene is a beauty considering this was the only bit of light to show but you did fantastic. The crescent lit is n icing on the cake. Well done for the great effort congrats.

What I do believe the foreground can benefit from is a little more lighteneing to open up more of the shadow areas especially to enhance the wonderful life lines in the sole figure, this i feel improve the composition in general.
