Photographer's Note

Tarraco - capital of the roman 'provincia hispania citerior' - offers lots of archeological sites from those times as well as from medieval times.

A place to stroll around: the old part of the city, surrounded by roman walls. In the center lies the cathedral (XII - XIV cent), small lanes and old houses gives you the impression to walk in a different time - a huge open air museum.

Many of the houses still stand on roman groundings. Later generation used even carved marble blocks, still to see in the walls, to renovate their buildings.
