Photographer's Note

After 4 hours and 23 minutes running: I’ve finished the marathon (the time is the only that I’ve written today, the note was written two days ago).

And I’ve been near of this place.
If you remember this photo, I talked about a rua of Carnaval: began in the Raval, continued in the Ramblas and finally went to the Folch i Torres Square.
And also I said that there was a reason for talk about that square.
Then, I thought that was necessary talk about this place.
Why? Why was necessary?

Well, really is not necessary. But let me explain.

Look this photo. I love this one.
The black and white was here the only choice for me.
And look this people. Is fantastic. A lot of people from different countries. And all of them in the Raval.

And this is Folch i Torres square. And the building behind this people is the high-school Milà i Fontanals (he was a famous catalan writer).
There I was four years studying and also I was making practices as teacher.

A special place for me and, in the same photo, real people. And is the real people who makes real Barcelona.

I hope you like it.

Hola Carlos una foto divertida del Carnaval, que a primera vista es difícil pensar que de Barcelona, me gusta la foto, además por lo que significa la diversidad, la mezcla de razas.... es bueno.

this is a good candid shot of these children. The black and white treatment makes the shot look dramatic. The high contrast adds a great power to the scene. Nice composition and lighting and very good impact. Well done.

The only improvement I would suggest is a 1cm crop on the left as it's a shame the arm is spoiling the look on the girl's joyful face. Apart from that there are lots of details to enjoy.

Hey Carlos. Congrats on your finishing the marathon! I was even more impressed that you posted a shot after the marathon but then I saw you wrote the note a few days ago. This is another ideal use of b/w and your focal point seems in pretty good focus. tfs Carlos.

Your note is well exemplified by the scene. People of all races are seen almost euphoric, laughing and enjoying themselves. A crisp clear image well suited to the B&W format. Your cropping and framing has ensured high impact. You have really captured the mood of the people at a key moment of this event. Well done.

Hola Carlos, no consigo acompañar todas tus fotos. Ando corto de tiempo. pero esta me llamo la atención. al principio, pensé que era algún lugar en Asia. pero una segundo pensamiento me llevo a Barcelona otra vez.
