Photographer's Note

This is certainly nothing special, which explains why it has stayed in my archive since the summer of 2016. Picking it up it again recently I decided it was neither better nor worse than most of my photos, so here it comes.

Here is a larger version.

This is a bay of the Baltic Sea reaching deep into the centre of Stockholm. I saw the couple relaxing by the water during one of my walks with the camera. I thought the lifebuoy and the ladder provided a graphically nice complement, so I took a photo.

Actually, I took two. An alternative horizontal version, without life-saving equipment, can be seen in the WS.

The slender tower seen to the left is the Eclipse, a kind of high speed, high level carousel at the Gröna Lund amusement park. The round building and tower to the right of the ladder is a 17th century fortress located on a small island called Kastellholmen, "Fortress islet". What looks like a church in the distance, towards the right side, is not a church but a home for the elderly built in the early 20th century in the neighbouring town of Nacka. It is still in use, but I am convinced it is now run very differently from 100 years ago.
