Photographer's Note

As time goes by and we get older, our soul seems to wake up gently to life.

It becomes a presence, a shadow perhaps… it is part of us, but at the same time we can perceive it outside our body like if it was an old friend sitting silently by our side. Sometimes we don’t even realize it is there, like a mirror, looking at us, leading our smallest gestures, sharing our inner thoughts.

Its presence becomes obvious from the moment when we suddenly realize that TIME is not just an abstract mental construction. It is real. Days pass quickly. And everything you miss at this precise instant, is already behind you and no longer available.

That’s why photography moves us so: it is the art of capturing a single and unique status of the subject, which was never reached before and won’t ever be reached again. It is the only way to see how the “present was”, and extract it from its abstraction.

The only permanent thing in Life is change. And that’s the process we all have to go through in our way from birth to death.
