Photographer's Note

After all the stone facades I’ve been showing you for almost a month, it is time for me to catch up a bit with humanity in this beginning of summer.

I am therefore starting a new short series of photographs on people. “Grainy” people. Waiting for something. Or just passing by.

Our lives are made of arrivals, departures and waiting between the first two. We start early and we only end it when we no longer breathe.

This photograph was taken in a corridor of the Geneva’s music Conservatory. The little boy is already waiting, although he’s only 6 years old and he doesn’t fully understand why. It’s my fault. He is my son. And I don’t fully understand why he’s not playing outside either.

But I know he loves music. And we both know he’s waiting because of something he loves. Loving is not always synonymous of fun. Love needs patience. Love needs waiting. And light will come from the end of the tunnel.
