Photographer's Note

In 965, the monastery of Payerne experienced a happy development as it was under the control of the abbot of Cluny, Maïeul. The kings of Burgundy and afterwards the Germanic emperors gave a lot of donations.
Until the expulsion of the monks by the Protestant reform in 1536, the priory remained a high place of civilization «clunisienne», just in the center of an active commercial little town. After four hundred years of "nothing", the monastic buildings were disencumbered of their profane uses, restored then studied thoroughly. Complements on a page dedicated to the abbey.

My story about this shot is that I had to transform it quite a lot (distortion). The reason was that I couldn't go as far as I wanted and had to turn my 20D up! Could you explain me exactly what happens and how we could do else??? See the WS.

USM yes or no?
