The old oak, a photo from Vaud, West

Photographer's Note

I found this tree, probably an old oak, on my way home. My camera was already in my bag, as the train station was pretty near and I didn't want to lose the next train. But I just couldn't resist to take a photo of this magnificient tree. I will surely go back to old oak in the warmer season, to see its beautiful branches full of life!

Hello Luca, your picture has unique mood. B&W tones create atmosphere of sorrow, but direction of road and vertical shape of the tree are interesting. Very good photo. Congratulations.

I suppose you don't miss your train!
super framing with the road coming from the right bottom corner, bending to direct the eye on the lonely bare tree. I also like the traces of water at the edge of the road, meaning that the snow is melting.

Lovely picture. A tiny winding road and a lone tree. The winter scene and the BnW picture. Just perfect.

it was good that you took the time and risk missing the train. Would have been a shame without this picture. Beautiful sky and also the contrast and shape of the street bend leading to the tree.

The curve of the road is perfectly leading up to the lonely tree. he black road and tree are very good contrasts to the white snow. A very simple and a very good and artistic picture!

actually today i have made a few critics for some nice samples of that kind. however i admit to say that this looks the one with best score. well-done for that beautiful composition which reminds me the loneliness in years.
