Photographer's Note
As summer is gently approaching, days are getting longer and warmer. One of the signs that people are waking up all around the city after the long winter hibernation, is the strong need they have to take out their socks and feel the Earth against their naked feet.
Did you ever do that, in the early spring days, arriving at the park and just feel the fresh grass against the skin of your feet??
The man on this photo had come with his children, who were all playing around. And he just stayed there for a while, after having arrived. I could see his toes playing with the grass, and it seemed he was filling his batteries with the energy coming from the earth. He seemed concentrated but at the same time floating in an ethereal world.
I love to do that myself.

Gal, we get so hot in Israel, that I'm cherishing every day we have with a cooler weather :-). Regarding the shot, i think it is too dark to see the details, though the compo is well with the diagonal "human" line

Hi Gal,
I'm agree with Omri about the darkness, but I like this scene the same! I like the composition and the light, the note is great as always!
Bravo!

in hong kong we are not allowed to walk or sit on the grass ;-)
about the dark background, i like it because it because your photo is about the man in foreground and a dark background help to draw one's attention to the main subject. but in my view DOF should have been shallower to blur the background.

i have a total respect + admiration for the brave ones who are able to aim their cams to strangers and shoot.
clodreno does it beautifully in india, and i can see you do almost the same in switzerland.
although the image looks rather dark on my monitor (needs calibration, perhaps?) i notice the brighter touch really bright and i like the effect as it is.
refined composition: 3 'layers' of people (or should i say 4?) with the guy in the foreground, the kid and the lady in the first background layer, then other kids and the trolley (??) and at distance, those adults. very nice. no one covering the other´s position.
very careful and thoughtful composition. you´re always close enough to your models but they always seem not to notice you...
notes are excellent.

Yes, good shot, Gal, it would work so good in colors but it is excellent with b/w. The sun plys perfectly with his head and his hands. I like the girls with the strpes T-shirts, as I said yesterday, this T-shirt is perfect to B/W. Very nice compo, Gal.
Do you ever post color pictures, too?

Interesting moment. The part is well-peopled and you've managed to isoalate him and capture his innermost thoughts. The BW did it well.

I missed this one whilst I was away, like the title. Very well manage tones, show detail in the faces in this high contrast against the light shot.

Yes we all do that Gal. But in a different way. Here we sometimes walk barefoot in the rain, or on the sand by the beach. We need to feel the various sensation available to our feet. Our feet need freedom too as winter or not, our feet always stay indoor. Alive is to feel.
