Autumn in Simplon, a photo from Valais, West

Photographer's Note

Recollecting some shots from my HD drive, this one, taken at the end of october 2007, at Simplon Dorf. A small path going outside the village, where you can buy some fresh eggs directly from the farm.
I used a 0.6 grad grey + polarizer.

Beautiful colours! The whole atmosphere really is autumnal and the snow shows where times are going to ... the changeover from green to yellow and to brown is gorgeous here - and all under this stunning sky! I like this one very much!

Superbes couleurs des mélèzes en feu dans le beau ciel bleu valaisan . Interessant contraste entre les deux sommets , l'un tout blanc , et l'autre brun .

Hi Stefano
This is a perfect shot for a Nikonist with all the yellow trees in the foreground. They contrast nicely with the deep blue sky. Having one summit with snow and the other with out make the shot more interesting. I like those clouds too.

Stefano,
I passed the Simplon only once and I only got to see snow in the early Spring. Now I can see that the autumn could actually be much more attractive, but now I live to far away to get there at the right time.
Perfect light manegement by using the 0.6 ND grad filter and also the polarizer gave that nice blue impression in the sky.
