A STOLEN CEILING, a photo from Berkshire, England

Photographer's Note

This is a typical English fan vaulting, very usual in the medieval churches of UK. I guess it is found only in this country. Amazing the beauty of such adornments.
One of the things more annoys me when I visited a place is a prohibition to take photos. In Windsor Castle I tried to take some shots but with no good results.I really hated the place and probably never would come back.

Esse é um típico teto de igreja medieval inglês, creio que só existe lá. Impressiona a beleza da decoração.
Uma das coisas que mais me chateiam quando visito um local é a proibição de fotos, esse foi o caso no Castelo de Windsor. Tentei tirar algumas fotos, mas a maior parte delas foi um desastre. Não gostei desse passeio e não gostaria de regressar.

I visited this church many years ago and there isn't a prohibition to take photo, your shot "stolen" is really interesting whit its cut diagonal. well done,

Hello Jorge,
In some places it is forbidden to make any pictures, in other it is allowed. and it happens sometimes that you can use your phone but not camera. strange. of course, I hate the places where I can't make picture, what is the reason to go there, haha. Splendid fan vaulting, indeed, pehaps only in UK we can see similar ones. Nice composition.

Hello Jorge,
I have seen similar vaults in English churches too, they are really beautiful and you captured this one perfectly too. Good use of the column on the left, it leads the eye very nicely towards the ceiling.

Comment peut-on interdire de prendre des photos à l'intérieur d'un église ?, la question reste posée (peut-être parce que l'édifice assure la vente de photographies ou de livres s'y rapportant).
Quoi qu'il en soit, l'image est splendide.

Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more common to prohibit photography at touristic places. I think tourists of the world should unite to protest such places. I am so glad you were able to get away with this beauty.

Una foto magnifica de esta boveda de abanico en la capela real de Windsor, con las crucerìsa de oro. Excelente POV, nitidez y gestiòn de la luz !
Verdad, este tipo de bovedas se encuentran solamente en el Reino Unido. Habìa fotografado una similar en la Catedral de Gloucester, el claustro de Harry Potter :-)
Pecado que non podìas tomar fotos en muchos monumentos de Grande Bretagna. Congratulaciones por robar este :-) Valiò la pena.
