Photographer's Note
Taken on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway . We were up in the English Lake District for a long week-end with family, admitidley I was also busy trying for bug shots at every opertunity, but there where other pictures to be had this the 1st of a few from this preserved live steam railway, for a full history use the above link. The wheels pictured are on the River Mite.
Pictured here on the turn-table at the top of the line at Eskdale /Dalegarth while being turned round to change ends to return to Ravensglass.
taken on a typical Lakes day wet and overcast, it had rained allnight and only stopped after lunch but was still very dull, so it was taken in Aperture priority and with flash to put details into the dark areas.
