"Blizzards and widespread ice in many parts of the UK are causing considerable disruption, with more wintry weather forecast for the weekend."

Chillaton is a small village deep in the West Devon countryside. Once mainly associated with manganese mining at nearby Hog's Tor.Now agriculture is the main industry.

Nice winter scene with crisp cool colours interrupted by rays of sunlight.
I like the shadow effect you've captured here and the depth of the rolling hills disappearing into the background.
The sheep add a nice element of life to this seasonal shot.

Hello Leslie,

This is a fine picture of a winter scene.

It would have been very tempting (and it might have earned you more points too!) to screw up the contrast and saturation during editing of this photograph, but you have treated this one very sympathetically.

The soft lighting and the soft colours are, to me, just right. The soft mist in the background gives a lovely backdrop to the nearer trees and the sheep. The exposure is spot-on and the whole picture is as sharp as a pin.

The layering of clouds, mists, and bright sun on snow is just delightful. Good pov with the sheep standing in just the right places. Thanks for sharing, and Happy Christmas.

Wow ! What a beautiful winter capture ! Sheep don't find easlily some grass by this weather conditions . I like especailly the game of loght and shades , and the misty mountains in the BG . Excellent exposure of the snow .

I think the inclusion of sheep in this shot has made it, this is an idyllic setting, in the English countryside. The frame sets it off well.
