Photographer's Note
The Walkham is a river whose source is on Dartmoor, Devon, England.
Flowing under Merivale and Huckworthy Bridges, the river reaches Horrabridge.
About three miles further on, just below this footbridge on the West Devon Way, it joins the River Tavy.
After heavy rain it becomes fast flowing and is a favourite with canoeists.

Hello Les,
I like the use of the slow shutter speed to catch the fast running waters in motion. Also, the composition with the wooden footbridge making an attractive and effective frame. Agreeable light and colours; excellent sharpness.

Hello Les,
An interesting note and a lovely photograph capturing the autumnal colours perfectly.
I rather suspect that you might have used your "Big Stopper" or some other strong ND filter for this in order to achieve such a long exposure and that has given you a lovely artistic softness and blurring of the fast moving water of the Tavy. I know some people absolutely adore this effect while others simply hate it: I'm still sitting on the fence, enjoying the artistic quality but still not quite certain whether it really equates to reality!
Here, however, it has worked very well here and the brightness of the river contrasts well with the soft light and gorgeous autumn colours in the upper part of the picture. Your composition is excellent too with the lovely little bridge perfectly placed in the frame. And, as always, technical quality, exposure and sharpness are bang on.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello, Leslie!
The effect of movement is perfect in this picture, with the shutter speed of 2 seconds. The different tones of green of the background are also beautiful! Wonderful composition! Beautiful nature!

Hello Les,
The 2 sec exposure was perfect for this giving a lovely silky effect of the tumbling water. There is lovely autumn colour in the woods and I do enjoy the moss covered tree trunks that look like they have a velvety texture.
Gorgeous.
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Les

Hello Les,
The background with the forest is wonderful.
But I am not certainly the frozen water not is it like to much, the movement of the water is disappear, but maybe see people this as perfect, this is the choice at the members.
I see gladly flow the water.
Sharpness and colours are superb.
Composition and perspective are beautiful.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Wow! Awesome capture of this river and I like the effect of the slow speed on the mood. It must have been a calm day, I don't see any blurring of the branches or leaves. Good technical quality and nice details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Lesly,
Because the slow exposure of your shot, the flow of the river leads immediately the eyes to it.I think it's a superb blurring effect. Then,I like the little wooden bridge which to the background, the other bank with the lovely automnal colours .I would like to have a walk along that nice river.
Friendly.

Hi Leslie,
fantastic effect of the long time exposure here. The smoothed water contrasts interestingly with the crispy sharp vegetation. Excellent composition with the river filling the lower 1/3 of the frame and a great exposure under difficult light condition.
Very well done,

Fascinating result Leslie. The rushing water has acquired a dynamic, surging presence and although the 2sec exposure has softened the edges, the power is obvious. Anyway, the turmoil at the bottom is in stark contrast to the peaceful combination of moss, foliage and old sleepy bridge. Best wishes. Klaudio.
