Photographer's Note
This is another shot from the pennies, in the north east of England. The water is low this time of the year, so I was able to stand on the rock's which would normally be covered in about three foot (1m) of gushing water.

Hi Ged,
I like your choice of shutter speed, just right for the flow of the water :)
It might be nice to see a bit more of lowest waterfall in the frame, I mean where it's landing.
Great shot, Davy

great shot ged
really crisp shot of the rocks and good shutter speed to make the water look silky
ive been up there and i know its a very dangerous place to stand with an 80 foot drop right behind you
well done, just for your bravery alone

Nice image Ged,
I think you've chosen the right shutter speed. The water look's great. I'd like to see this waterfall in full flow. Well Done!

Hi Ged. The water looks great. It does look dangerous looking down. The rocks look sharp. Nice flow. Well done. Sue.

YOur doing great stuff with the Northumberland landscape in your portfolio Ged. I like the slow shutter speed to catch the movement in the waterfall here.

Hello Ged,
I really like the angle you've found for your shot here; it allows us to see the bend in the river, and the worn rocks on the far left You have a nice high skyline, and when our eyes follow the river upstream we can see through to the hills beyond. Compositionally then, it's very good. Technically, it does fall a bit short, because the water is very burnt out in places, and I think this does detract from the image as a whole. At the end of the day, a lengthy exposure of water enables the flow of the water to be seen; but when it is burnt out, it just becomes a patch of white, which defeats the object of the original exposure. This is difficult, of course, because water & spray, being the lightest elements in the shot, require the shortest exposure time.
Regards
colin

Hi Ged, A nice long exposure shot of the waterfall. Judging from the color, the water may contain high percentage of dirt there. Nice capture of the contrast under the bright sunlight. A very well taken picture.

Hi Ged, this is nice, the muddy water is like a river of gold, especially in the lower left corner. Great effect. TFS.

Hi Ged! Nice setting of water falling through some of the roughest rock I have seen in a long time. Very nice scenery and thanks for posting this view. Cheers Paul.

Hi Ged, Another great capture of yours. I think you have chosen the right perspective for this shot and the water is stunningly captured (it almost looks like a jammy flow of caramel sauce! :-)
Excellent colours too! Sabine

I think this shot works well Ged. Yes there is a little burn-out in parts (crhieatt)but not enough to be disturbing. The slow shutter has just smoothed the water to create a lovely effect and the surroundings are sharp. Well done
