Photographer's Note

This is a view of the fantastic roof of the St Pancras station in London. It was first opened in 1868 by Midland Railway when steam was the form of travel. In the last few years it has been extensivly renovated and extended and is now a retail and hospitality area with bars, restaurants and cafes. The station services the Eurostar plus trains to the north and south of England. When I was there work was still being done on the gothic frontage of the old building but the rest of the station is new and ultra modern. The roof itself is a single span of 74M-243ft which allows the station to make full ust of the space without obstructions. (TRIVIA)The station also has Europes longest Champagne bar.
