Photographer's Note
As well as being featured in the Heartbeat TV series the railway station at Goathland (part of the Grosmont to Pickering line of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway) has become famous as Platform 9¾ used for the departure of the Hogwart’s Express in Harry Potter films. I was keen to capture an image of the trademark bridge, but had missed a passenger train, so had to make do with this goods train. I plan to go back soon, but this shot brings to an end my Grosmont to Goathland walk featuring the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I hope you have enjoyed it. Tomorrow is my 100th post, so the timing is right to start a new series.

Another good steam shot Kath, platform shots are so difficult due to the cramped space but you have got good detail in the engine and the bridge provides interest in the distance. The sky is a touch burned out but this is what you get on such a loveley day.You have inspired me to post one of my shots taken at Goatland in the Spring.

Hej Kath,
A very nice photo to end these series with. You captured the famous platform and the train from a good angle and with a good lighting. Well done! I'm looking forward to your 100th post! :-)

Nice colours and detail. The clouds are possibly a bit burnt out but focus, DOF and composition are spot on. Well done.

I love the leading lines here, Kath. Sky is a bit bright, though, perhaps. The point of view invites my interest to the train and scene. I look forward to you 100th!

Hi Kath,
Excelent angle of view and plataform enquadrement to this really green and nice steam engine and composition. Excelent colors, contrast and sharpness. Possible the bright sky makes more contrast, and so in this case it helps.
Very well seen, done and composed.
Best to you and waiting for your 100th.

And hi again.
Nice capture with a fine composition (I like here the vertical format)... but look that sky. It's a pity. Perhaps a problem with the exposure.
Regards.

Hi Kath, I like the perspective view and the steam out from the old fashioned engine. A very well taken picture with nice details and rich texture.
