Photographer's Note

I went out with the great intension of taking some pics in an old wood near me but on getting there the light was all wrong plus there were cars and people everywhere .So i drove aimlessly about thinking of places i could go .Anyway i saw roseberry and thought i would give it a go, the sun was high and bright so i used a grad ,i used my friends spare camera a canon 10d ,lens was a sigma 17-35mm.I also wanted to take it from distance to give the feeling of a wide open area.
Roseberry topping is very unique as its the only big mountain in north yorkshire it can be seen from many places around ,it towers above the little village of Newton under Roseberry close to Great Ayton about 1 mile away. This and the whole area was covered in thick forest, and if your legs and lungs last out getting to the summit you will find shale, if you split it open normally you will find fossilised fern and bracken and small leaves well preserved inside .
anyway hope you like the pic
