Photographer's Note

Port Mulgrave was once a busy port where ironstone was shipped from mines along the North Yorkshire & Cleveland area up to the steelworks of Newcastle. It was demolished by the Royal Engineers during the second World War (to slow down any German invasion forces) and has slowly decayed ever since.
