Photographer's Note
This is a very different shot for me. I tried to combine knowledge that I've got here in TE and I really enjoyed.
The scene brings many emotions to me...sad because of the poor bear hunging there like being in a kind of a slavery of the bears! Also brings me positive emotions thinking that a child soon will win the lovely bear and the bear will not be lonely anymore...I don't know..maybe you can find even more emotion or nothing. I am very curious to hear your thoughts (if any).
It is shooted at the St Giles Fair that takes place over 100 years now every begining of September in the main streets of Oxford for two days. It is devoted to St Giles whose Church is located in the center of the city.

Sad indeed, Thats what photography is about.
Getting an emotion raised by the viewer.
If you took the shot a bit more to the left you maybe seperated the bear from its surounding so it woud be lonly to.

Hi Eugenia...
I like to go with the lucky child idea too ;D... i like this photograph althought the compo doesn't have a good reference of the actual size of this bear... very nice B&W...

I like the stark contrast between the brightnes of the lights behind and the poor bear hanging in the dark. This would be one of those times where the bear might have benefitted from being singled out by a shallow depth of field.

Nice streetshot! Love the grain and the bear is positioned well in the frame. Though I like it as it is, it would also bi interesting with some small silouetted people near the "Win a Bear" signs. Cheers Eugenia!

I like this best out of your stock. Very optimistic, isn't it? The 'win a giant bear' sign leads me to think that all of us can get to feel their dreams..
I would have liked a frame, though.
Bogdan.

I thought it was sad too. I don't know what feeling to really get from that picture. I must confess it looks like a mix between real pain (the hanged bear) and great sadness (the bear will really one day be won by a child or just thrown away cause of dust or any other reason).
Anyway, I do think it's a really good picture.
