Photographer's Note

The statue is next to the main A1 road south of Newcastle. You question - Was it really needed? Whilst personally I think not it does make for a great subject to photograph. The angel is not easy to photograph - even with a 17mm lens I still missed of the tip of one wing, however in this image I considered that the inclusion of the people walking up the slope into a fresh wind was more important when I came to print this image. They were one of my "decisive moments" in photography.
