Photographer's Note
Morning mist at Abbeymill Farm near Haddington in East Lothian. It was a beautiful cold, misty morning with a touch of frost.
The sun was already shining hard and it was difficult to retain the misty feel.
This farm is on the outskirts of Haddington with views over to the Lammermuir hills, the crops have all been harvested and the soil in the foreground is freshly ploughed, ready for the next crop.

Hello Lisa. The transparent light and the nebulas show a picture of the autumn. The photo becomes particularly expression strong by the dark field in the foreground. An interesting and photo worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello, Lisa.
This is rather good. I like the mist with the hills and the trees in the distance but I really like the look of that recently-plouged field in the foreground - you can almost feel those big wet clods of earth, all sticky and cloying. Nicely separated from the distance by that field of golden stubble lit by the early sun.
Very well done!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Lisa, what an amazing backlight, its so beautiful and misterious, I particularly like it on the fresh turned soil but I think it is slightly over exposed in the sky, but I know its not easy, if one tries to under expose to acomodate the sky that means losing that beautiful light on the ground, many thanks for sharing and keep them coming, regards, Salas

Hi,
A brave shot into a bright sun. The foreground highlights from the field the silhouetted wall provide a good anchor for the distance effect of the layers above. I might have exposed it 1/2 stop down to make the trees stand out a touch more and still retain the foreground. Good atmosphere. Thanks.
Dougie.

yes..overexposed due to taking the dark areas for exposure..
expose for highights and let the shadows take care of themselves...easy to say..hard to do..if you look at my shots you will see...
this could be cropped land heavy and treated a bit for the sky being a bit light
as in the other shot..and this one..you are 90% there with good composition, viewpoint, and subject matter..
cheers
geof
