Photographer's Note
This was taken on the same day as my previous submissions of Criccieth in Gwynedd, North Wales.
I had just spent half an hour or so taking the shots of the castle and my wife and I stopped at a little cafe at the end of the beach for some lunch. Whilst we were sat there, I spotted this group sat on the bench looking out over the bay and chatting amongst themselves. There was something about this and the view that they were looking at that struck a chord with me, it seemed such a timeless scene and just so typically British with the rolling green hills in the background, the fluffy clouds, the stoney beach, the Sun out and people still wearing coats and jumpers!
I took this handheld, positioning the bench so that you could see the people lead you across the shot as you follow their gaze out to sea and trying to use the sky, sea and land as thirds for the rest of the shot.
I can't pretend this was a difficult shot to take, but I just liked the scene! As always your feedback is welcome, so please let me know what you think.
Cheers

I was reading an old Theroux book "Kingdom by the sea" recently and he often mentions Briton's tendency to stare out at the sea. This backs hime up. A well composed and well executed shot. Nice work.
